A Quick Stop in Amsterdam

Jim and I had already been to Amsterdam back in 2016, but the ladies had not.  We did a few of the same things (Anne Frank House, Reijksmuseum, Winkel 43), but we also saw sites we hadn't visited before.  And it was a lot of fun showing others around the city.

We stayed this time in a more typical hotel (NH Amsterdam Centre) and not the Rick Steves' type we're used to, but it was just fine. The folks from Overseas Adventure Travel arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and drive us to the hotel.  It then arranged for a driver to take us us back when we left.  We didn't have to mess with the trains, which made it so easy!  The NH Amsterdam Centre was located close to several Tram and Bus stops as well as to the Vondelpark, Rijksmuseum, and the Van Gogh Museum.  Travel around Amsterdam is extremely easy using their public transportation system.

Us hanging out at the Pablo Picasso, Figure découpée l’Oiseau in Vondelpark. While Picasso supposedly intended it to be a bird (there are "bird feet" out of sight at the bottom of the sculpture), I read that it is  locally known as ‘Picasso’s Fish statue’.
